Latest Liverpool transfer news: Nicolas Pepe wants a move to England

The Daily Star reports that Liverpool have been handed a huge boost in their chase of Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivorian was excellent for Lille last season as he scored 22 Ligue 1 goals and is doing his bit at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Lille value the 24-year-old at £60m and the report claims that the Reds are tracking him.

German giants Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on the Ivorian, with the Bavarians looking to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery (h/t Daily Star).

Premier League side Arsenal want to sign Pepe, but they do not have the transfer budget to make a move, according to the report. African journalist Sega Diallo recently tweeted that Pepe wants to move to England and Bayern might miss out (h/t Daily Star).

RMC’s Mohamed Bouhafsi also has been reporting on the Pepe links and responded to the tweet from Diallo with an emoji.

Lille boss Christophe Galtier added that Pepe is expected to leave in the summer while he spoke with Canal+ (h/t Daily Star):

“Nicolas Pepe will leave. Life’s like that, football’s like that today. He is a player of the highest level who will have a big decision to make on the choice of his next club.”

Liverpool have already made a signing

The Reds have been busy in the summer and sold Rafa Camacho to Sporting Lisbon recently.
