Latest Liverpool transfer news: Coutinho’s agent claims star will not leave Barcelona
Kia Joorabchian, Philippe Coutinho’s agent, has claimed that the Brazilian will not leave Barcelona despite rumours of his exit in the summer window.
The former Liverpool midfielder has struggled since his big-money move to the Catalan giants, and the Independent claims that Coutinho has been linked with a return to the Reds.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have also been linked with the 27-year-old (h/t Independent). Coutinho is currently with the Brazil side and should feature in the final of the Copa America.
Joorabchian, however, categorically denied that his client was leaving Barcelona in the summer and told RMC Sport (h/t Independent):
“I talked a few days ago with Pep Segura at Barcelona. He told me that the club does not want to sell Coutinho this summer, no matter what.”
The agent added that PSG have not made contact regarding Coutinho.
Interesting times for Coutinho
The Reds might have lost one of their most creative players to Barcelona in 2018, but we have only improved since.
We beat Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League and won the final last month. Coutinho’s performances weren’t great in the previous season, and a move to another club could be beneficial to his career.
Liverpool could do with a creative midfielder in the side but we have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back from a long-term injury.

Adam Lallana could also do that role next season, but the Englishman’s campaign was affected by several injuries.
