Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds on alert over Ziyech’s lack of interest in La Liga move
Liverpool are on alert after Hakim Ziyech claimed a move to Sevilla isn’t appealing to him (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The 26-year-old was one of the stars in Ajax’s Champions League campaign, which painfully ended due to Lucas Moura’s last-minute winner in the semi-final second leg.
The Moroccan scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in the Eredivisie as Ajax won the league title, and has been linked with several top clubs (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Speaking to Algemeen Dagblad (h/t Marca), the Morocco international wasn’t keen on leaving Ajax for Sevilla:
“With all due respect, they’re not a club that I leave Ajax for. For me, it’s key to improve in the sporting aspect.
“If it’s not a club similar to Ajax, I do not see the reason to leave.”
Marca adds that Sevilla are yet to bid for the 26-year-old.
Liverpool could do with Ziyech in the side
The 26-year-old might not be the biggest name from the current Ajax side, but he would be a quality addition to the Reds.
Ziyech is capable of providing cover for several positions, and his creativity on the pitch will be an added dimension to our team.
The 26-year-old played most of his games last season on the right wing, but he is comfortable taking up a central role too.
