Latest Liverpool news: Caoimhin Kelleher to miss six weeks of action due to wrist surgery
Liverpool have been dealt a minor blow before the start of pre-season with the news of Caoimhin Kelleher picking up a wrist injury.
The 20-year-old Irish goalkeeper will be out of action for six weeks, according to the club, after suffering a broken wrist.
The young goalkeeper was a part of our pre-season camp last time around and is likely to be out of action until August.
Kelleher is one of the bright talents in the reserve side and it will be interesting to see how he progresses in the upcoming campaign.
Another young goalkeeper, Kamil Grabara, spent a part of last season on loan at AGF. Kelleher is undergoing a rehab programme with the club’s medical department and hopefully, he returns stronger than ever.
Liverpool fans react to news of the injury
The Reds will be slightly stretched in pre-season due to Kelleher’s injury with Alisson away on international duty at the Copa America.
We still have Simon Mignolet in the side and the Belgian should be in goal until Alisson returns.
Many Liverpool fans wished Kelleher the best as he continues his recovery from the injury, and here are some of the reactions from Twitter.
