Latest Liverpool transfer news: Kleberson claims Dani Alves would be a great signing for Liverpool

Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson has claimed that Dani Alves would be a great signing for Liverpool.

The Brazilian right-back has refused a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain and is a free agent (h/t Express).

The Express adds that Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in the 36-year-old, who has won several trophies with Juventus, PSG and Barcelona in his career.

Kleberson was speaking to your-promotional-code.co.uk (h/t Express) and claimed he wanted Alves in the MLS:

“I wanted to get Dani Alves to join me in the MLS! He’s a phenomenal player with amazing quality.”

Kleberson didn’t have a great time at United, but believed Jurgen Klopp would like the right-back at Anfield:

“I feel maybe could fit in well at Liverpool and Klopp would like him as a style of player.

“He’s very technical, fast and has an incredible temperament in the big games. He’s a winner.”

Liverpool have a quality attacking right-back

Trent Alexander-Arnold has done a great job since being made the first-choice by Jurgen Klopp.

The English youngster provided a record number of assists in the Premier League last season and should only improve in the upcoming campaigns.

Alves would be a great signing if we did not have an attack-minded right-back in the side.

It is doubtful if he would be alright with spending time on the bench, given Trent’s growth in recent seasons. However, the Brazilian would provide great cover at right-back next season.

The right-back would demand a huge wage given he is a free agent, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up when the window closes.
