Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp wants to manage Germany but is happy at Liverpool, according to agent
Jurgen Klopp’s agent has confirmed that the Liverpool manager wants to manage Germany in the future.
Marc Kosicke, however, added that Klopp is happy at Anfield and claimed he could be offered a new deal.
The German helped Liverpool to their sixth Champions League title a month ago, which was his first trophy at the club.
Liverpool also managed a record 97 points in the Premier League but came second to Manchester City.
Kosicke was speaking to Die Welt and added that Liverpool was the right club Klopp, at the moment (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“Jurgen himself once said that in the event that Joachim Low someday no longer wants to be the national coach and it would be possible for him do that, this is an option for him.
“But he has contract by 2022 anyway. In Liverpool, [they] would even like to extend it.
“And, as I said, he feels comfortable there and has felt again at the recent festivities in the city, what a great Liverpool club and that he is in the right place at the right time.”
Klopp won’t leave the Reds for another club
The agent dismissed suggestions that Klopp could move to another club, and even termed the German as unaffordable (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“Jurgen is currently not affordable. But it is difficult to measure the transfer fee in his case anyway.
“How is it going to work with a coach, under which the value of the club has increased in just three years from just under £900million to nearly £2.8billion? That is not how it works.”
The agent added that Klopp was happy at the Reds before landing the Champions League, but the win over Tottenham has “relaxed” the perception from outside the club.
The German is possibly the best manager we have had in the Premier League era, and we seem set to achieve more under him in the coming seasons.
