Liverpool started their pre-season in perfect fashion with a 6-0 win over Tranmere on Thursday.
The Reds did not have several first-team stars, who were away on breaks after a long season, but the likes of Divock Origi
, Rhian Brewster, Joe Gomez, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Simon Mignolet playing a part in the win.Jurgen Klopp handed minutes to 23 players across the two halves and we saw goals from Nathaniel Clyne, Rhian Brewster, Curtis Jones, Bobby Duncan and Origi.
Brewster was one of the stars on display as he scored a brace while Harry Wilson also got some minutes for the Reds.
Fabinho might not have been on the score sheet, but the Brazilian is an important member of the team and was happy to be back at Liverpool.
Klopp had promised that Liverpool’s youngster would get a chance to impress against Tranmere, and they did that really well.
Jones was pleased at scoring and thanked the fans for supporting the team.
James Milner also tweeted that he was pleased seeing Brewster score in the game, and the English midfielder certainly had a decent outing ahead of the campaign.
Brewster was especially ecstatic picking up the brace and his mood could be made out by the pictures he shared on Twitter.
Liverpool’s next clash is against Bradford on Sunday, and we should see the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Trent Alexander-Arnold return on Saturday.
The players had additional time off after their exploits with the national team, and hopefully, we should see them in action soon.
