Latest Liverpool news: Klopp confirms he will stay on for three more years
Jurgen Klopp and Jordan Henderson faced the press before our pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund.
The Liverpool captain had great words for Klopp claiming the German to be a “special manager both on and off the pitch” and expected him to remain at the club for a long time (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Klopp also responded to a question regarding how long he would remain at Anfield by first laughing and then suggesting he would be here for a while (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“Wow!
“I don’t think a lot of people get asked that question three years before their contract is expiring.”
The German confirmed he would be here for three more years at least, which is the duration of his current deal:
“We will see. I don’t know if it sounded negative, positive, why should we think about… at least three years, that’s the answer, at least three years, umm, good.”
Klopp follows seven year cycles
The German joined Liverpool in 2015 and signed a new deal a year later keeping him at the club till 2022.
Klopp was in charge of Mainz and Borussia Dortmund prior to his Liverpool stint, and the German has always remained at a club for seven years.
He helped Mainz gain promotion to the Bundesliga during his spell there and helped Dortmund to a couple of German league titles.
The German has been excellent since joining the Reds, and we have improved each season under him.
We won the Champions League last month and seem set for greater glory in the coming seasons.

Hopefully, Klopp stays for the three years in his current deal and remains at Anfield for a lot longer.
