Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool have bid for Nicolas Pepe

L’Equipe (h/t Get French Football News) reports that Liverpool are one of three clubs to have bid for Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivorian sensation scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in Ligue 1 last season. The 24-year-old was part of the Ivory Coast team for the Africa Cup of Nations, but could not lead them to the final.

Liverpool are joined by Inter Milan and Arsenal in bids for Pepe, and the report adds that Lille are waiting for the Ivorian’s side to make a decision.

Should the Ivorian decide not to join any of the three sides, Lille will then open talks with the other clubs who have not bid for the player (h/t Get French Football News).

Atletico Madrid and Napoli are two others interested in Pepe, and Lille will try to see if they bid €80m for the Ivorian (h/t Get French Football News), which has been offered already.

Pepe has to make a big decision

It is interesting to note that Liverpool are still being linked with Pepe with less than a month left to the start of our Premier League campaign.

The Reds have to sign players before the season starts, and Pepe has to take a big decision regarding his future.

Moving to Liverpool would not guarantee him regular starts, but he would be playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and we will improve further next season.
