Latest Liverpool news: Adam Lallana misses Dortmund clash due to injury
Liverpool were handed their first loss of pre-season, with Borussia Dortmund running out 3-2 winners in Notre Dame.
The Reds did see some first-teamers pick up minutes on the pitch, however, one player missed out on the clash.
Adam Lallana did not feature against the Bundesliga giants due to a dead leg, and it will be interesting to see if he is ready for our next game of the America tour.
Lallana’s injury issues return
The English midfielder had a difficult season last time around due to several niggling injuries throughout the campaign.
Lallana is one of the most gifted players we have in the team but his injury record has not been great over the past two years.
Jurgen Klopp claimed the Englishman has a big role to play in our upcoming campaign, but Lallana’s spot is not guaranteed given the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Ox is back from a long-term knee injury and looked to be in decent touch against Dortmund.
Lallana only started five Premier League games last season and we need most of our stars to remain fit if we are to challenge Manchester City for the title.
The 31-year-old has a big season ahead of him but many Liverpool fans weren’t certain he would be a huge factor for us. Some even wanted the Reds to cut their losses and sell the former Southampton star.
