Latest Liverpool transfer news: Reds looking to sell Ovie Ejaria

The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds won’t allow Ovie Ejaria to leave on loan this season but want to sell him.

The 21-year-old was on loan at Reading in the second half of last season and impressed at the Championship side.

There was a talk of Ejaria moving to the club on loan but the report adds that negotiations over a permanent deal have also taken place.

Ovie Ejaria and Jurgen Klopp

The 21-year-old also spent the first half of last season at Rangers but struggled to perform under Steven Gerrard.

The youngster has not played for the Reds since 2017 but has made a handful of appearances for the senior team under Jurgen Klopp.

Brentford interested in Ejaria

The report adds that Brentford are also interested in the midfielder, and are looking at a deal worth £3.5million plus add-ons and a sell-on clause.

That sort of deal is something that Liverpool would be interested in (h/t Liverpool Echo), while Ejaria could play in some of the cup games should he remain at Anfield.

The Reds have several options for their midfield right now, and it is unlikely Ejaria would feature in any of our Premier League or Champions League games.

Liverpool have several youngsters doing well in the pre-season too and hopefully, some of them play senior minutes next season.
