The Daily Mail (h/t Mirror) claims that Liverpool will lose out to Everton in the race for Reinier.
The 17-year-old plays for Flamengo and will join the Toffees after he turns 18 in January, according to the report.
The youngster is yet to make his first senior appearance for the Brazilian side but was one of the stars in the U17 South American Championship.
There were several clubs interested in the Brazilian talent, with Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan also keen on Reinier, according to the report.
However, it is Everton who will beat the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City to the signature of the Brazilian for a fee of £36m (h/t Mirror).
Everton have made several signings this summer as they look to build on under Marco Silva.
The Reds have already captured two young talents in this transfer window.
Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott have featured for the Reds during the pre-season and big things are expected from the pair.
Liverpool have not made any senior signings this season but haven’t sold any of their big players too.
Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge are the two exits from the club in the summer, but they left after the contracts expired.
The transfer window has less than 10 days left and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool move for other players.
