Latest Liverpool news: Reds end pre-season campaign with 3-1 win over Lyon

Liverpool put up a nearperfect performance ahead of their Community Shield clash against Manchester City.

The Reds had not won any of their previous four games and fell behind to a Memphis Depay penalty in the fourth minute.

Roberto Firmino was back in the side after his extended break and scored the equaliser.

Mohamed Salah was also away on a break and looked decent out wide for the Reds.

Liverpool have a big game on Sunday

Although the Community Shield is a curtainraiser to the Premier League season, this would be another big test for the Reds.

Manchester City were great last season and this could be a fantastic game at Wembley.

Jurgen Klopp has his work cut out for Sunday, and he will expect stars like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to take the team to the next level.

The English midfielder missed a good phase of the previous season but has looked decent in this pre-season.

Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold also need to continue their fine performances from the previous campaign.

The pair was excellent in the final third and their crossing is one of our biggest weapons in the attack.

Another player who needs to stay injury-free is Naby Keita. The Guinea midfielder returned to action for the Reds after a problem during the Africa Cup of Nations, and he has to do well this season after an average campaign last time around.
