Latest Liverpool news: Elliott warned by club after offensive Kane video

The Times reports that Liverpool have warned Harvey Elliott regarding his future conduct after a video emerged of the Englishman offensively impersonating Harry Kane.

The clip was recorded on Snapchat during the final of the Champions League which Liverpool won.

The Reds defeated Kane’s Tottenham 2-0, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.

The report adds that the clip was recorded before Elliott signed for Liverpool.

Elliott apologises for the video

The English winger has apologised for the video and the 16-year-old wrote (h/t Mirror):

“I would just like to wholeheartedly apologise for any offence caused on the back of a video of me currently circulating on the internet.

“The video was taken whilst messing around with friends in a private environment and was not directed at any individual but I realise that my actions were both immature and senseless.”

The youngster needs to be careful of his social media use and hopefully, he can stay away from controversy in the coming years.

The 16-year-old has been one of our most impressive performers since joining the club, and looked good in the 3-1 win over Lyon.

The former Fulham star could feature for the first-team this season, though it will be difficult for him to replace Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Elliott could be a quality backup for the pair, and it will be interesting to see how he performs once the season starts.
