Latest Liverpool transfer news: Gerrard claims Rangers have moved on from Kent
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has hinted that Ryan Kent will not be returning to Ibrox.
The Liverpool youngster impressed on loan in Scotland and even won the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.
The 22-year-old featured in our pre-season and put up some impressive displays. Sky Sports adds that Jurgen Klopp has ruled out another loan move for Kent and will prefer a permanent sale of the Englishman.
Gerrard was asked if signing Kent on a permanent deal would be too expensive for Rangers, and the Liverpool legend replied (h/t Sky Sports):
“I haven’t asked that question but I think the answer would probably be yes.
“Jurgen has come out and given the answer that will come out of my mouth anyway. It has been addressed and we move on.
“The end of it? Where we are right now, yes. We respect Liverpool’s stance and we thank them very much for allowing us to work with Ryan for a year.”
The Rangers manager added that he spoke with Klopp and respected Liverpool’s position regarding Kent.
Liverpool need to decide on Kent’s future quickly
The transfer window is open for just a week now and Liverpool have to make up their mind on Kent’s future.
The 22-year-old won’t feature regularly at Liverpool and selling him might be the best decision if Klopp does not rate the Englishman.
