Paul Glatzel picked up an injury in our 6-0 pre-season win over Tranmere Rovers.
The young Liverpool striker left with 12 minutes left in the game, as the Reds went through the motions against the lower league side.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Glatzel seemed to twist his knee in the win over Tranmere, and is awaiting the results of a scan. Going with the initial looks of the injury tipsters and bet predictions suggest that the youngster will be out for a while.
Jurgen Klopp was worried about the extent of the injury but claimed the German would feature in his plans once fit (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“Unfortunately Paul Glatzel got seriously injured, which is a shame.
“He is a wonderful kid, a wonderful player, unbelievable.
“The week we saw him (at Melwood) helped already, so when he is back he will be one of my boys because I really like what I saw.”
A big blow for Glatzel
The youngster formed a great partnership with Bobby Duncan last season as the U18s won the FA Youth Cup.
Glatzel scored 28 goals for the Reds and even made it into the U23 side, and scored in a few wins.
The Liverpool Echo adds that the striker was expected to travel for the US tour after having impressed in pre-season training.

Glatzel’s partner, Duncan, scored in the win over Tranmere, and hopefully, the German is not out for a long time with the report claiming he is set to miss the entire pre-season.
