Jurgen Klopp was worried about the extent of the injury but claimed the German would feature in his plans once fit (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“Unfortunately Paul Glatzel got seriously injured, which is a shame.

Former Liverpool hero warns that Reds star’s form could dip later in the season due to this reason

Latest Liverpool news: Barnes warns Mane’s form could dip later in the season

Sadio Mane has been a machine for Liverpool over the past two seasons. The Senegal star was involved in the World Cup, played almost every game for us last season and then took the national side to the AFCON final.

Barely three weeks after the final, he was back at Liverpool and came off the bench to face Norwich. Mane has bagged three goals in his last two games and should feature for us against Arsenal at the weekend.

Former Liverpool star John Barnes claims that Mane is in fine form due to a lack of rest for the attacker, and we could pay for that later in the season.

Barnes was speaking to the Sport Review and claimed that Klopp would be able to manage this situation (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“Maybe one of the reasons Sadio Mane in fine form is because he’s fitter than everybody else because he hasn’t had the time off, which he could pay for later on in the season, come Christmas time.

“But I’m sure that Klopp will be able to manage that situation.”

Liverpool’s over-reliance on their forwards

Klopp has rotated his midfield several times over the past two seasons but isn’t afforded the same luxury when it comes to the forwards.

Roberto Firmino only missed games when he was injured in the previous campaign, while Mohamed Salah also played in most of the games.

Liverpool have Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi as cover for the pair, but they aren’t on the same level as the African stars.

Salah and Mane are extremely durable, given the number of games played over the past two years, and they seem to be performing at a high level and barely look tired.

Liverpool open case regarding transfer of 20-year-old attacker to Serie A club

Latest Liverpool news: Adekanye given reprieve as Liverpool dispute transfer

Bobby Adekanye left Liverpool in the summer to join Lazio in the Serie A. The former Barcelona and Ajax youngster left on a free without making a senior appearance for the Reds.

However, Liverpool believe that the Italians broke the rules to sign the Dutch attacker and opened a case that could have seen the 20-year-old not play for Lazio in the season opener, according to Calciomercato.

FIFA have acted upon this complaint and announced that the youngster has been granted a reprieve and can play for Lazio against Sampdoria in the first game of the season (h/t Calciomercato).

The report adds that the youngster can feature for Lazio until the dispute is completed, and Adekanye could feature for the Eagles on Sunday.

Adekanye struggles to break into the senior side

The attacker has come through the ranks of several quality academies in his short career but he was never able to impress Jurgen Klopp enough to feature in the first-team.

The youngster didn’t feature much in our pre-season this summer and Klopp already has quality wingers in the first-team at the moment.

Impressive youngsters such as Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent can’t break into the side either, with both players spending time away on loan last season.

It would have been difficult for Adekanye to feature for the senior side this season and hopefully, he gets more games at Lazio.

Latest Liverpool news: Klopp confirms Keita will be out for a few weeks

Naby Keita has struggled since his arrival from RB Leipzig and will not feature against Arsenal at the weekend. The 23-year-old’s form hasn’t been great either and returned from the Africa Cup of Nations with an injury.

Keita featured in the Community Shield against Manchester City but hasn’t played for us since.

Jurgen Klopp was speaking to the media ahead of the clash against the Gunners and confirmed that Keita will be out for a few weeks.

James Pearce of the Athletic relayed the news of Keita’s injury during the press conference.

One back and another injured

Liverpool can thank their stars as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back from a serious injury and looks good.

The former Arsenal man should make up for a season lost due to injury and Keita’s absence should not be felt much at the moment.

Of course, it is a problem as to why Keita cannot stay fit at the club as he was one of the most talented midfielders during his time with RB Leipzig.

The Guinea international is a dynamo and can carry the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. He was also involved in several goals for the Bundesliga side, but we are yet to see the best of him.

Many Liverpool fans were upset with the latest update but wanted Keita to rest well and return to his best soon.
