Liverpool FC transfer news: Fabinho staying at Reds despite rumours of Real Madrid move
The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds have no intention of selling Fabinho despite links with Real Madrid.
The Brazilian joined the Reds from Monaco last season and has become one of the most important members of the squad.
The 25-year-old helped us to the Champions League crown a couple of months ago, and is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.
Jose Luis Vergara, a Colombian reporter, claimed that Liverpool had agreed on a deal with Madrid worth €65m plus €10m add-ons this summer (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The Brazilian was at the La Lia giants prior to his Monaco move but could not get regular playing time in Spain.
The Colombian reporter also added that the Fabinho would join until 2024 and the transfer would be done once Liverpool find a replacement (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Liverpool cannot sell Fabinho now
The Premier League season is just a couple of days away and finding a replacement for Fabinho in such short time is next to impossible.
The Liverpool Echo adds that the Brazilian is expected to start against Norwich on Friday and should play a big role for us this season.
Liverpool have been able to keep hold of all their first-team stars this summer, and it would be a major surprise if we allow any of them to leave at this moment of time.

Fabinho also hasn’t made many noises about wanting to leave, and he should grow further under Jurgen Klopp in the coming years.
