Latest Liverpool news: Fans react to Sokratis’ claims that it is easier to defend against the Reds than Burnley
Liverpool face Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday, with both clubs retaining their 100% win record in the league.
The teams have won both their Premier League games this season but that will change as the early table-toppers meet at the weekend.
Liverpool defeated Norwich and Southampton while Arsenal got the better of Newcastle United and Burnley.
The Reds were one of the best attacking units in the Premier League last season, however, Arsenal defender Sokratis claimed that facing Burnley was a more difficult challenge than Liverpool.
The centre-back claimed that the Reds play football and the opposition doesn’t always have to “fight” (h/t Metro):
“It is a different game. Maybe it is more easy, because you don’t have to fight a lot – but they also play football.”
However, the Arsenal defender added that the Reds can sweep away any team on a good day and said that the Gunners respected their rivals.
Liverpool demolished Arsenal last season
The match at Anfield was a one-sided affair as the Reds ran off 5-1 winners, thanks to Roberto Firmino’s hat-trick. Things could be a little tricky this time around with the addition of Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos to Arsenal’s ranks.
However, our attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino looks extremely sharp and will cause lots of problems to the Arsenal defence.
Many Liverpool fans could not believe the comments made by the defender, and here are some of the reactions from Twitter:
When will they learn…4-0 incoming.
