Liverpool FC transfer news: Kane won’t be allowed to leave on loan despite interest from several clubs

The Portsmouth News (h/t Liverpool Echo) claims that Herbie Kane will remain at Liverpool despite interest from several clubs.

The 20-year-old joined Doncaster Rovers on loan in the previous campaign and scored seven times in 49 games. Kane joined the Reds from Bristol City when he was 15 and has risen up the ranks in recent years.

The report claims that Portsmouth, Hull City and Charlton Athletic were interested in the 20-year-old, however, Kane could feature in our Carabao Cup games.

Liverpool have mixed up their team in the Carabao Cup under Jurgen Klopp, and it will be interesting to see how Kane performs in the first-team.

Liverpool have to rest senior players in the cups

Although winning a domestic cup would be great for the Reds, the main aim has to be to win the Premier League and retain the Champions League trophy.

Jurgen Klopp could be inclined to rest some of his stars in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup games and hopefully, our youngsters shine in these tournaments.

The Reds didn’t fare well in the two competitions last season but we have several talented youngsters who could do a great job.
