Jurgen Klopp was speaking to the press ahead of the weekend clash against Arsenal.
The German touched upon a range of topics from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s return to Alisson and Naby Keita’s injuries.
There was some transfer talk during the conference as Klopp was asked about Dejan Lovren’s future.
The Croatian has been linked with a move away in the summer (h/t Calciomercato) and Liverpool cannot buy a player until the winter window.
The European transfer window closes on 2nd September, and Klopp was not going to share any details regarding Lovren’s future (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“No comment on Lovren. A potential transfer or not, I don’t want to talk about it.”
Losing Lovren now would be a big blow as we would only have three recognised senior centre-backs until January. This is a risk that Klopp should not take and hopefully, we can keep hold of the Croatian until the end of the season.
Lovren is fourth-choice at the club, thanks to the form shown by Joel Matip and Joe Gomez but should feature in some of our cup games this season.
Klopp has always been coy with regards to players coming in or going out of the club and hopefully, we aren’t left to rue Lovren’s sale this month.
