Latest Liverpool news: Reds break Premier League record after beating Arsenal 3-1
Liverpool continued their 100% winning start to the Premier League season after dispatching Arsenal 3-1.
The Reds controlled most of the game but were unable to get the better of a tight Arsenal defence early on. The Gunners were happy to sit back and break on the counter and had a few quality chances too.
However, Joel Matip rose highest from a corner to give us the lead before half-time. Mohamed Salah then won a penalty and converted with ease before scoring the goal of the game in the second half.
Lucas Torreira got one goal back for Arsenal in the final 10 minutes, but that was nothing more than a consolation. The Reds are the ones with a 100% record this season, and they also broke a record with this win.
This was Liverpool’s 12th consecutive Premier League win, which is the longest ever streak we have enjoyed in this competition.
The wins started last season, and we should have a chance to extend it in the coming weeks.
Liverpool also matched their best-ever winning streak in the league competition by tying the record held under Sir Kenny Dalglish back in 1990.
The Reds still have room for improvement
Liverpool will face tougher tests in the coming weeks but we have to build on this performance and improve further.
We handed Arsenal a few chances and the pace of Nicolas Pepe troubled us in some instances. Our next match is away to Burnley before we head out for the international break.

Four wins from four Premier League games would be great, and we should be strong enough to get three points against the Clarets.
