Latest Liverpool news: Salah stars for Reds in 3-1 win over Arsenal
Liverpool brushed Arsenal aside 3-1 in the big Premier League clash of the weekend.
The Reds were made to work hard for the opener, with the goal coming from a corner. Trent Alexander-Arnold put in a brilliant cross with Joel Matip heading us into the lead.
Arsenal had their chances on the break but were happy to sit back and hit on the counter. Liverpool’s full-backs were given a lot of time and space to deliver crosses, but most of them could not find the forwards.
Liverpool went into the break with a 1-0 lead and then the Mohamed Salah show started.
Salah bags a brace
Sadio Mane had been in great form since returning to the Liverpool team, but it was Mohamed Salah who was the star after the half-time whistle.
The Egyptian won a penalty early in the second half, with David Luiz tugging at his jersey, and he slammed home the goal from the spot. The second goal scored by the forward made the game safe, and it was a thing of beauty.
Salah received the ball near the half-way line and he flicked the ball past an onrushing Luiz before racing clear and slotting past Bernd Leno.
The Egyptian created several chances too and was the best Liverpool player on the pitch.
Liverpool are the only club with a 100% win record after three games in the Premier League and many fans praised the Egyptian for his performance.
