Latest Liverpool news: Aurelio claims Henderson has replaced Gerrard in the team
Former Liverpool left-back Fabio Aurelio has showered glowing praise on club captain Jordan Henderson.
The Brazilian made a name for himself under Rafa Benitez and was known for his incredible set-piece delivery.
Aurelio, however, had several injury problems during his time at Anfield and was never able to push on to greater things.
The Brazilian was back at Anfield for the 3-1 win over Arsenal and claimed that Liverpool has grown a lot since his time here (h/t LiverpoolFC.com).
Henderson is the only player at Liverpool who featured in Aurelio’s final game for the Reds, and the Brazilian believed that the captain has done a great job in replacing Steven Gerrard (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):
“I remember when he came, it was kind of to support [Steven] Gerrard and replace him in the future. He has done the job and completed what everyone expected from him. He has more to do, I’m sure of that.”
Hendo growing at Anfield under Klopp
Hendo had struggled initially after joining the Reds but had a great season under Brendan Rodgers when we missed out on the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp has helped every player improve under him, and the same goes for Hendo.
The English midfielder has seen his game develop and now makes some forward runs too to help out in the attack.

Gerrard is a legend at Anfield for his exploits with the club, and should Hendo help us win more titles under Klopp, he could join our former captain as one of the best to have played for the Reds.
