New Balance shared pictures of Liverpool’s limited edition blacked-out kit for the 2019-20 season.
This follows last season’s kit, which also featured a blacked-out version. The Mirror adds that the newest release builds on the “centenary celebrations of Liverpool legend Bob Paisley’s birth.”
The jersey features a pinstripe, with inspiration taken from the 1982/83 season
, which was the first time when Paisley won the league with the Reds. The kit also features iridescent detailing on the front of the jersey and has the legendary manager’s signature on the inside of the shirt.
New Balance and Warrior have provided some great home kits over the years but the third kits have been a little different, to say the least.
The blacked-out variants of our home jerseys have always looked great but having a bit of a gold or silver trim would have looked great too.
Liverpool’s contract with the manufacturers is up at the end of the season, and we could sign with Nike, according to the Mirror.
The Reds are looking to overtake Manchester United’s £75m-a-season deal with Adidas, and that would make our tie-up with Nike as the most expensive in the Premier League (h/t Mirror).
Adidas and Reebok were two of the biggest kit makers we had in the Premier League era, and it will be interesting to see who Liverpool
