Latest Liverpool transfer news: Werner open to move abroad despite new Leipzig deal
Timo Werner extended his stay with current club RB Leipzig after signing a new deal in the summer.
The 23-year-old was out of a contract at the end of the season but his new contract keeps him with the Bundesliga club until 2023.
The German has been linked with Liverpool for a while (h/t Mirror) and claimed he was open to moving abroad in the future.
Werner was speaking to Sport Buzzer (h/t Liverpool Echo) and didn’t turn down a chance of moving away from Germany:
“I don’t exclude anything [regarding a move abroad in the future]. I am and remain a player of RB Leipzig.”
Werner available on the cheap
The Mirror adds that Werner’s new contract has a paltry release clause of €30million, which would make the German an incredible buy for that price.
The Reds have a fantastic team at the moment and our attack is one of the best in the world.
Rhian Brewster is being lauded as the next big thing coming through the youth team, but we could do with a quality backup for Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian is a perfect fit for our playing style but Werner would also do well under Jurgen Klopp.

It will be interesting to see how Werner performs for Leipzig this season. It is important to note that we have already done business with them earlier by signing Naby Keita.
