Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds reject another loan bid from Roma for Lovren
Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Daily Mail) reports that Liverpool have rejected an improved loan offer for Dejan Lovren.
The Croatian will face a tough time in getting regular starts for the Reds this season, thanks to the form shown by Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.
The 30-year-old hasn’t featured for the Champions League holders this season, and the report claims that Roma would have had to buy Lovren next summer had he played a set number of games this season on loan.
The Italian giants are seeking a replacement for Kostas Manolas but were unsure about Lovren’s physical condition (h/t Daily Mail).
It is to be seen if they make another bid for Lovren given that the European transfer window ends on 2nd September. The Croatian is one of the most experienced defenders in the Premier League and has always given it his all when playing for Liverpool.
Reds have quality youngsters coming through
Losing Lovren would be a blow but we have some quality players in our youth setup.
Ki-Jana Hoever got some minutes last season in the cup competitions while we also signed Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle in the summer.

One of the two could be promoted to the first-team if Lovren leaves, and we could see another starlet breaking through into the senior side under Jurgen Klopp.
