Liverpool FC transfer news: Lovren a target for Juventus after Chiellini injury
The Dejan Lovren rumours won’t go away even on the final day of the transfer window.
The Croatian hasn’t played for us this season and is now being linked with a move to Juventus. Sky Germany (h/t Sky Sports) claim that the Italian champions are interested in signing a replacement for the injured Giorgio Chiellini.
The Italian defender is out for a while with an ACL injury and was in the stands as the Turin giants beat Napoli 4-3.
The report claims that Jerome Boateng of Bayern Munich is also a target for the Old Lady while Medhi Benatia, who plays for Al-Duhail, is also being looked at.
Juventus don’t have a lot of time to finalise a move for Lovren, and it will be interesting to see who they sign as a replacement for the experienced Chiellini.
Matthijs de Ligt featured for Juve against Napoli, but the former Ajax centre-back struggled against their Serie A rivals.
Losing Lovren isn’t an option
The Croatian might want to play regular football but we have to keep him at all costs.
Liverpool need experienced centre-backs when the cup games start and Lovren will allow Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip some much-needed rest.
The Croatian shouldn’t be allowed to leave unless Juventus come up with a crazy fee for the 30-year-old.

Liverpool’s squad is settled at the moment and letting Lovren leave now would be a big problem as we cannot replace him until January.
