The Daily Record claims that Andy Robertson has become the firstever Scotland player to be nominated for the FIFPro World XI side.

The Scotland captain is in the list of 55 players, which will be cut down to 11 on 23rd September at the Best Football Awards show in Milan.

The former Hull City left-back has been on the rise since his move to Liverpool and was excellent last season.

Andy Robertson

The left-back helped us win the Champions League title and also assisted 11 goals in the Premier League last season.

This is the first time a Scottish player has been nominated for the World XI since the awards began 15 years ago.

Seven Liverpool players nominated

Liverpool had a fantastic season last time around even though we missed out on the Premier League crown.

Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all been nominated for the World XI.

Robertson might not have racked up an assist so far this season but the Scottish star has helped us to a 100% winning start in this campaign.

It will be interesting to see how many Liverpool players make it to the final team, but Robertson should have a great chance as he was possibly the best left-back in Europe last season.
