Ederson claims Alisson is a step ahead with FIFA Best Goalkeeper award on the line
The Premier League features two of the best goalkeepers slugging it out for top honours.
David de Gea’s form has dramatically fallen over the past 12 months while Alisson and Ederson have fought it out to be Brazil’s No.1.
Alisson was in top form last season as he won the Champions League and helped Brazil lift the Copa America.
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has been shortlisted for the FIFA Best Goalkeeper award along with the two Brazilians, however, Ederson conceded that Alisson is a step ahead of the pair (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“I think the three of us were the best, but I see Alisson one step ahead.
“He was great in the Premier League, won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and had a great Copa America as well.”
The Manchester City keeper added that whoever won the award would deserve it and was happy that the two Brazilians are doing well.
Alisson should land the trophy
The Brazilian was the best keeper in Europe last season and also won the UEFA award for the best goalkeeper last season.
The former AS Roma star hasn’t played for us since the opening day and hopefully, he returns from his calf injury soon.
The Brazilian has been excellent between the sticks and it is difficult to see how he will improve his record from last season.
