Benfica right-back Andre Almeida is one of the most experienced players in the Portuguese league.
The 28-year-old has won multiple league titles with Benfica but missed out on the Europa League with the Portuguese giants on two occasions.
Almeida was speaking to Mega Hits and claimed he wanted to move to the Premier League (h/t Mirror
):“I always had the dream of going to the Premier League.”
The 29-year-old has been linked with moves to Southampton, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion, according to the Mirror.
However, he is interested in Liverpool and our bitter rivals Manchester United:
“I really like Liverpool and Manchester United for their history.
“I also like Real Madrid and Barcelona, but I prefer the Premier League.”
The right-back was honest enough to claim that he might not be able to start games regularly in England, and wasn’t thinking of leaving Benfica at the moment.
Liverpool have a fantastic defence under Jurgen Klopp, which developed into one of the best in the world last season.
Our right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, is possibly one of the best crossers in the game while Joe Gomez can also play in that position too.
Trent only needs to improve on his defensive skills a bit and that would take his game to another level.
