Liverpool youngster Paul Glatzel signs new deal with club
Liverpool confirmed the future of one young striker would be at Anfield for a long time after Paul Glatzel agreed to sign a new deal with the Reds.
The 18-year-old featured in some of our pre-season games but picked up a serious knee injury and is undergoing rehab.
The striker scored 28 goals for the U18s last season and helped us land the FA Youth Cup. The youngster also won the title of the tournament’s top scorer by bagging eight goals.
Glatzel was pleased with signing a new deal with the club and claimed it was an easy decision to extend his time with the Reds (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):
“Definitely. Like I said, I’ve been at the club for so long and I just want to keep going and see where it takes me. Hopefully I can crack on now and keep going. The contract makes it easier.”
The youngster added that going through rehab at Melwood was great seeing the senior players on a regular basis, and he was confident of returning stronger after the injury.

Bobby Duncan was sold in the summer to Fiorentina after his agent had a wild go at the club and Michael Edwards.
The youngster partnered Glatzel last season, and it was a bit of a surprise seeing Steven Gerrard’s cousin leave in such a manner.
