Klopp shares timeline for Liverpool superstar’s return from injury

Jurgen Klopp claims Alisson’s possible return date is after the next international break

Jurgen Klopp spoke during his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash against Newcastle United and provided an update on Alisson’s return date.

The Brazilian has been out since the first day of the season after injuring his calf against Norwich.

Liverpool and Klopp have kept things under wraps and haven’t provided a return date for the keeper, however, the German claimed that the target for his return is after the next international break.

The manager added that Alisson has looked good, however, he doesn’t want to put any pressure on the Brazilian to return early (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):

“It was a really serious injury in the calf. It is now much better, of course, and that’s good for us and good for him, but we don’t know exactly [how long it will be].

“The target was always after the next international break [that] he could be ready, but we don’t know. So, as I said, there is no pressure and hopefully everything will be fine for the rest of the season, that’s the plan.”

The German also provided an update on Nathaniel Clyne and Paul Glatzel, claiming that they are still some way away from returning to the team.

Adrian to continue between the sticks

The former West Ham keeper has done well since taking up Alisson’s job in the team, however, his passing and ball distribution aren’t up to the Brazilian’s levels.

Adrian has taken part in a lot of extra training sessions during the international break, and it will be interesting to see how the Spaniard does in some of the bigger games.

We play Newcastle next and after that, there are tough trips to Napoli and Chelsea.

Manchester United is the first game after the international break, and it will be interesting to see if the Brazilian is back by then.
