Liverpool withdrew Rhian Brewster as precaution after Divock Origi injury
The Liverpool Echo reports that Rhian Brewster was withdrawn from the U23 clash against Derby County as a precaution.
Liverpool lost Divock Origi to an ankle injury in the 3-1 win over Newcastle and are unsure of the extent of the problem.
The Belgian is set for a scan but the Reds didn’t take any chances with Brewster. Liverpool took the striker off after 15 minutes of the game, according to the report.
The 19-year-old has had his injury problems over the past couple of years but is our third-choice striker this season.
Daniel Sturridge was allowed to leave for free in the summer window, and it is to be seen when the 19-year-old gets his chance in the first-team.
Brewster set to travel to Italy
The report adds that the English youngster is set to part of the squad for the Champions League opener against Napoli.
This would be Liverpool’s toughest away trip of the Champions League group stage this season. The Reds lost against Napoli away in the previous season but beat them at home.
The Reds have been in great form in the Premier League picking up five wins from five games, and it will be interesting to see what kind of team Jurgen Klopp puts out on Tuesday.
