Mason Mount provides positive update ahead of Liverpool clash
Chelsea’s return to the Champions League didn’t go too well as they lost 1-0 at home to Valencia.
Frank Lampard’s side also missed a penalty in the clash as the away side picked up all three points.
However, one of the talking points in the clash was Mason Mount picking up an injury after a tackle from Francis Coquelin.
The former Arsenal man was only booked for a tough challenge on the English youngster, but the Metro (h/t Liverpool Echo) claims that Mount is hopeful of featuring against Liverpool on Sunday.
Chelsea host the Reds in the clash of the weekend, and it will be interesting to see if Mount features in the game.
A young side against the best in the league
The English midfielder has been impressive in a youthful Chelsea side and already has three goals from five games.
Liverpool have to be wary of the threat possessed by Lampard’s team but the Reds are the only club with a 100% winning record in the Premier League this season.
The Reds, however, were beaten in their first game of the Champions League but put up a good showing against Napoli on Tuesday.
