Pep Lijnders provides update on Alisson and Divock Origi

Liverpool have done a stellar job in the Premier League this season despite not having an important player.

Alisson has been out of action since the win over Norwich City, but Adrian has done a great job in his place.

The Spaniard was signed for free in the summer and has helped us to wins over Arsenal and Chelsea. Alisson, for his part, has been continuing his rehab and was pictured at FIFA Best awards in Milan.

The Brazilian injured his calf against Norwich City and our assistant manager Pep Lijnders provided an update on the keeper (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):

“Ali is on his way back, but as we know with calf injuries you have to be careful, especially if you see how strong and big he is and how much weight he puts through his calves when he has to make these speed reactions.”

Lijnders added that the Reds have to be careful with how the rehab goes, but said that things are going according to the plan.

Origi to return soon

Divock Origi was injured in our win over Newcastle after playing a few minutes.

The Belgian didn’t face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and Lijnders shared a positive update on the forward:

“Divock is in the right way and has already been on the pitch, but not with the team yet so that’s his next step. Hopefully that comes quickly.”

The forward hasn’t started many games for us but should get chances later in the campaign.

The Reds need all their players fit as we have to play in several competitions in the coming months. Alisson is one of the best in the world and hopefully, he returns soon.
