Liverpool to appoint Vitor Matos as part of coaching team next month
Zeljko Buvac was the second in command behind Jurgen Klopp, but he left in April 2018.
The report claims that Matos and Lijnders worked together at Porto and Liverpool’s newest coach and joined as an academy coach years ago.
Matos is currently the Porto B assistant, and was the technical director at Chinese club Shandong Luneng Taishan last year (h/t Daily Star).
New coach to work with young players
The report adds that Matos is expected to help the senior players. However, his main job is to ensure that our youngsters can make the jump to the first-team.
The Reds have several talented youngsters in their ranks, and we saw them in action against MK Dons.
