Liverpool target Dani Olmo expected to leave club in January
Dani Olmo was one of the stars in Spain’s U21 Euro win during the summer.
The 21-year-old scored three goals and provided an assist for La Furia Roja in the competition, and is one of their best talents.
The youngster swapped Barcelona for Zagreb and even did well in Dinamo’s 4-0 win over Atalanta in the Champions League.
The Dinamo Zagreb star was linked with Liverpool in the summer, according to Marca (h/t Liverpool Echo), and is expected to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo) adds that Olmo wants to leave in January after being frustrated at being priced out of a move in the previous transfer window.
The Croatian giants wanted between £31m-£36m for the 21-year-old and that put Liverpool off in the summer (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Liverpool to move for an attacking midfielder?
The Reds don’t need an out-and-out attacking midfielder in the 4-3-3 formation they deploy, with Roberto Firmino playing from a deeper position.
However, the Reds could do with a creative midfielder when they start in their 4-2-3-1 formation.
Liverpool utilised that formation several times last season and reverted to that during the final stages of our last two games. Olmo is one of the brightest players in the U21 Spanish side, and it will be interesting to see if we make a move in January.
