Bayern Munich chairman confirms Thomas Muller is not for sale
Thomas Muller is one of the best Bayern Munich players in the modern era. The 30-year-old has a great scoring record for the Bavarians and has one of the best footballing minds.
The Reds had bid for the German in 2017, and reports suggested that they could reignite their interest in Muller as he was linked with an exit (h/t Express).
However, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was asked about Muller leaving Bayern and shot down that option (h/t Express):
“I can not imagine that.
“The relationship between Thomas and Bayern is totally intact and will remain an important part of our club.”
The Bayern chairman also spoke about how the forward wasn’t happy with a lack of starts this season:
“If Thomas would sit contentedly on the bench, he would be in the wrong club.
“That’s the reaction we even want, but he still has to deal with the situation seriously. He’s exemplary.”
Liverpool’s January plans hit a roadblock?
The German would have been an excellent January addition to the team. Muller’s vision and movement would have handed Jurgen Klopp an excellent selection dilemma.
The forward could have rotated with Roberto Firmino and could have even provided some cover for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Although the German is 30, players of his calibre always add something extra to a team. Liverpool
We are trying to land the Premier League title this season and hold an eight-point lead over Manchester City.
