Aaron Cresswell helped Adrian seal summer Liverpool move
Liverpool moved quickly to sign Adrian in the summer after Simon Mignolet left for Club Brugge.
The Spaniard was a free agent and training in his native country, but he stepped up well after Alisson’s injury.
The 32-year-old has put up some excellent performances for the Reds as we lead the Premier League by eight points but has Aaron Cresswell to thank for the move.
His former West Ham teammate gave a glowing review to our goalkeeping coach John Achterberg and Adrian thanked Cresswell during an interview with the Telegraph (h/t Express):
“I didn’t know that at the time but after I signed he told me. So thank you, ‘Cress’, because he had a good word for me!”
Adrian’s run in the team has been great
The Spaniard put in some fantastic performances such as the ones against Napoli and Chelsea, and seems to be a smart bit of business by the Reds.
Instead of investing millions on a No.2, we snapped up the free agent when he couldn’t agree on a deal with the Hammers.
The 32-year-old should be replaced in goal soon by Alisson but it was great on the part of Cresswell to put in a word for Adrian.
