Liverpool and Chelsea interested in Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook
Liverpool are interested in Bournemouth’s 22-year-old midfielder Lewis Cook, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Daily Star).
The Reds are keen on signing quality young English talent, and Cook seems to fit the bill (h/t Daily Star).
The 22-year-old has blossomed under Eddie Howe and even featured for England last season. The youngster has also captained the U20 England side to World Cup glory in 2017 and made his name with Leeds United.
The youngster didn’t feature a lot last season due to an injury but has made three appearances for the Cherries this campaign. Chelsea are also keen on the 22-year-old as they are also aiming to land the best English talent (h/t Daily Star).
Liverpool to add more talent in the midfield?
The Reds already have several first-team options in the current side, with a lot of competition for places in the midfield.
Marko Grujic could also stake a claim in the first-team next season after another impressive start with Hertha Berlin this season.
It makes sense to keep an eye open for top talent and landing an English player is never a bad option. Jurgen Klopp has worked wonders with several young players, and Cook could be another one to join the list.
