Jurgen Klopp unsure if Mohamed Salah will face Genk on Wednesday
Mohamed Salah wasn’t a part of the matchday squad to face Manchester United on Sunday.
The Egyptian didn’t make the trip after failing to recover from an ankle injury suffered against Leicester before the international break.
The forward could have provided us with more sharpness in the final third but we had to settle for a point at Old Trafford.
Our attack just didn’t click in the first half and we needed Adam Lallana to turn things around after coming off the bench.
Jurgen Klopp spoke about Salah’s absence from the team, insisting that he didn’t have a chance to play at Old Trafford. The German wasn’t even sure if the Egyptian would be ready to face Genk in the Champions League (h/t Metro):
“What can I say? Mo was not ready, so that’s how it is.
“He could not train with the team. I don’t know where it came from he might play. There was no chance. Maybe Wednesday, we will see.”
Liverpool could do with Salah back
Divock Origi was handed a start at Old Trafford but the Belgian flattered to deceive on the big night.
Liverpool looked bereft of ideas without Salah in the team and hopefully, he comes back to action soon.
We need the forward against Tottenham and our next Premier League game after that is a trip to Villa Park.
