Liverpool could battle Everton for Wigan’s Joe Gelhardt
Liverpool could be set to battle Everton for the signature of Wigan Athletic’s Joe Gelhardt, according to the Liverpool Echo (h/t Sky Sports).
The 17-year-old has impressed for the Latics and has one goal to his name from four games this season.
Gelhardt plays as a striker but can feature on either wing too. The youngster has also done well for the England youth sides and is a part of the U18s currently.
The youngster seems to have a bright future ahead of him and it could be an interesting summer for the Wigan starlet.

Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott joined the Reds this summer, with our other signings being goalkeepers.
The Reds landed two quality youngsters in the summer and have a clutch of other starlets waiting to break into the first-team.
We saw some of them impress in the 2-0 Carabao Cup win over MK Dons, and Gelhardt could fit into the scheme of things at Anfield.
The Reds lost Bobby Duncan to Fiorentina in the summer and have seen Paul Glatzel even pick up a serious injury during the pre-season.
Liverpool should keep an eye out for quality young talent, with Jurgen Klopp handing opportunities to players.

Gelhardt has time to develop further under the right manager but sticking with Wigan also makes sense as he would get more first-team football for the Championship side.
