Jurgen Klopp claims Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold are fine ahead of Tottenham clash
Jurgen Klopp provided an update on two injured Liverpool players ahead of this weekend’s game.
The Reds host Tottenham in what should be a tough encounter given that Spurs always raise their game when they face us.
Both sides were busy in midweek, picking up huge Champions League wins, but the Reds were away in Austria while Spurs hosted Red Star Belgrade.
Liverpool were without the services of Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the win over Genk. However, Klopp claimed that the pair is fine and could feature on Sunday.
Liverpool Echo’s Paul Gorst tweeted Klopp’s pre-match press conference where the German said he would have to check on the players.
Klopp also provided an update on Xherdan Shaqiri, who is injured, but claimed the Swiss isn’t ready for action yet.
Liverpool need their strongest team on Sunday
Spurs might be struggling for results but they cannot be taken lightly after a European night. Liverpool need to be at their best at the weekend and Matip should make our defence tighter.
Trent is another key member in the side due to his runs and crosses, and hopefully, he starts against Spurs too.
Liverpool dropped points in their last Premier League clash and cannot afford to do that again.
