Liverpool interested in Juventus defender Daniele Rugani
Daniele Rugani has struggled for minutes in recent seasons at Juventus. The 25-year-old centre-back wasn’t favoured by former manager Max Allegri.
The Italian is in the same boat currently too, with Maurizio Sarri not playing him this season.
Arsenal and Manchester United were interested in the towering defender during the summer, however, Calciomercato adds that Liverpool are also interested in the Italian.
The 25-year-old could be sold in the winter window and a €23m bid could be enough to land the Italian (h/t Calciomercato).
AC Milan are also interested in Rugani as they look to bolster their options at the back (h/t Calciomercato).
A smart signing by the Reds?
Rugani has struggled to make it at the Old Lady. Matthijs de Ligt’s signing has also seen him fall down the pecking order.
Liverpool could do with an experienced defender in the winter window after seeing Joel Matip pick up an injury.
Joe Gomez has looked a little off-colour this season and we cannot rely on Sepp van den Berg to star right now.
Rugani would provide decent cover for Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren, and a cut-price deal would be a smart move from the Reds. The Reds had centre-back issues last season too and had to play Fabinho in that position.

Rugani wouldn’t start games regularly at Anfield, however, he could ensure we don’t have a defensive crisis as the games come thick and fast.
