Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita and Sadio Mane to feature in upcoming AFCON qualifiers

Liverpool trio Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita and Sadio Mane will play in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The trio will feature for their respective nations later in the month after our clash against Manchester City.

The African stars haven’t played a lot of international football since the end of the previous campaign. Salah and Mane were rested during the previous international breaks while Keita has only just recovered from an injury.

The breaks handed to Salah and Mane were certainly great as the pair barely had any rest last season.

They featured in the AFCON this past summer while they played in the World Cup in the summer of 2018.

Keita has had injury problems since joining the Reds from RB Leipzig. The Guinea international missed the Champions League final with a problem, and wasn’t 100% fit for the Africa Cup of Nations either.

He returned from that tournament carrying a knock and was injured again after the Community Shield loss to Manchester City.

Liverpool need their stars to stay fit

The Reds need their stars to stay fit for the gruelling season ahead. Liverpool will have fixture congestion in December when they fly off to Qatar for the Club World Cup.

We also play in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, and the semi-final is a two-egged affair.
