Liverpool send scouts to watch Ugurcan Cakir in action

Liverpool are one of three clubs to have sent scouts to watch Ugurcan Cakir in action.

The 23-year-old Trabzonspor keeper was linked with us in the summer as his agent claimed negotiations with the club had taken place (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The Reds signed a couple of keepers in the summer but they were veterans Andy Lonergan and Adrian.

However, Fanatik (h/t Liverpool Echo) claims that Liverpool, Sevilla and Manchester United all sent scouts to watch him in action against Krasnodar in the Europa League.

Cakir was on the bench in that game as his Turkish team lost 3-1. The 23-year-old has played 13 times for Trabzonspor this season, and his team lies fifth in the league.

They are rock-bottom of their Europa League group though, with just one point from their four games this season.

Trabzonspor want €20million for Cakir

The report goes on to say that club president Ahmet Agaoglu will only listen to offers above €20million for the 23-year-old keeper.

Cakir is contracted with Trabzonspor until 2025, and the report adds that the Turkish giants are in a good position when negotiating for the keeper.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds move for another keeper in the summer. Adrian has done a great job since joining on a free transfer while Caoimhin Keller has also featured in two Carabao Cup games.
