Liverpool target Kai Havertz wants to join Real Madrid
Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz has made Real Madrid his preferred destination, should he leave the Bundesliga giants (h/t Express).
The 20-year-old scored 17 Bundesliga goals for Leverkusen last season and helped them reach the Champions League.
Liverpool are interested in the 20-year-old but so are Barcelona and Manchester United (h/t Express).
The German was watched by Real in Leverkusen’s Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid (h/t Express).
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has also watched Havertz for a few months and has been impressed by the German, according to El Desmarque (h/t Express).
Big price-tag on Havertz
The report adds that the asking price for Havertz is £77million and the German also highlighted a conversation with a Real Madrid star.
Toni Kroos has been a mainstay in Real’s midfield for years and Havertz joked that the La Liga midfielder had joked that “The weather is always good in Madrid” (h/t Express).
The 20-year-old hasn’t been prolific this season though, with just three goals and an assist to his name.
Leverkusen sold one of their rising stars, Julian Brandt, in the summer to Borussia Dortmund, and it will be interesting to see how things develop with Havertz.
