Piotr Zielinski interested in moving to Liverpool
Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski is open to joining Liverpool, according to La Repubblica (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The 25-year-old has been a regular in the starting XI for Napoli and has made 15 appearances for them this season.
Zielinski normally plays in the middle of the park but has also been tried on the left of the midfield.
The Liverpool Echo adds that the Reds wanted to sign him in 2016. However, Napoli beat us to the midfielder’s signature.
Jurgen Klopp is still a fan of the midfielder and praised the 25-year-old after Napoli beat us earlier in the season (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Contract problems for Zielinski
Napoli want to keep hold of their midfielder with a new contract. However, the parties haven’t reached an agreement and the Serie A giants could sell the Polish star (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Zielinski, for his part, will consider his future at Napoli should Klopp stay interested in the 25-year-old (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Liverpool have several options in their midfield and we have seen Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also return to form this season.
The Englishman missed most of the previous season with an injury but has scored four goals in all competitions for us.
Naby Keita is another player that has had his injury problems, and it will be interesting to see how he fares this season.

Zielinski could be a decent addition to the side given that he is only 25. James Milner and Adam Lallana are in their 30s while Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum are 29 each.
