“£150m players” – Reputed journalist claims Liverpool won’t sell star pair for Sancho

James Pearce claims Liverpool won’t sell Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane for Jadon Sancho

Liverpool have been linked with Jadon Sancho in recent weeks (h/t Liverpool Echo), but won’t sell one of their stars to get the Englishman, according to James Pearce.

Sancho has been excellent for Borussia Dortmund since joining them from Manchester City.

The 19-year-old winger has also become a regular for the England national team and is one of the brightest talents in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool also have a couple of quality wingers in Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

James Pearce was participating in a Q+A session and was asked if the Reds would part with either star to land Sancho.

The journalist claimed that the Premier League leaders are not interested in selling the pair (h/t Express):

“No, I can’t see it. Both Salah and Mane signed new deals not long ago with no release clauses.

“They are coming into their prime and LFC will have no interest in selling them.”

However, Pearce did warn that things could change. The journalist added that he doubted a huge offer would come for the pair given how valuable they are:

“Of course things can change fast in football, one of them could agitate for a move and there could be a massive offer on the table but I very much doubt that will happen.

“The reality is that very few clubs could afford either of them. They are both £150m players.”

Salah and Mane doing their bit for Reds

The pair shared the Golden Boot with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season and have started this campaign in good form too.

Salah has nine goals and five assists in all competitions for the Reds. His teammate, Mane, also has nine goals and a couple of assists this season. Sancho could do a great job for us and provide a lot of competition to Mane and Salah.

However, we need to keep the African pair given their quality and the fact that they are in the form of their lives.
